Does anyone else find the braying geese annoying?

Spent the morning mowing the grass and watering the newly planted part of the lawn.  Just as I finished with the watering the sky darkened and it poured for about twenty minutes.  Looked on the radar and there was this little rain cell right over the river system.

At about 1:30 with the sun back out and the temp hitting 80 I headed for the cold water in the UE.  So did a good number of fishermen and everyone who ever wanted to try kayaking.  There had to be at least 75 kayakers on the river.  What was I thinking?  Turned around and drove over to Deposit on the WB where there were lots of drift boats, fishermen, bugs and rising fish.  Couldn't help but notice that on Rte 17 at about 3:00, there was a steady flow of cars heading back to the greater NYC/NJ  metropolitan area while I never saw another vehicle headed west towards Binghamton.

Fished one of my secret spots (the  WB "No Kill") for over two hours and was kept busy casting to two year old browns that were rising to the smorgasbord of bugs floating down the river.  Hooked two good fish, one 17, the other 20.5, both were hatchery holdovers. Took three flies out of the big one before letting him go. When the kids from a family party entered the water and a two man pontoon boat anchored in front of me, it was time to go.

Drove over to the BE at about 6:00 to fish a section of the river that gets little wade fisherman pressure.  Found that the toads on the EB were also singing and that it was quiet enough to hear them.  It's the last week of May, it's hot and yet the post Hendrickson bugs have yet to show in numbers.  Stood around admiring nature until after 8:00 before anything happened.  When bugs started to hatch the fish started to feed. Hooked a good one and while he was on saw two or three more begin to rise.  Broke off the best fish of the night in my rush to catch the next one.  Something I'm not likely to ever learn not to do.

If you are going to fish in the next few days (temps in the 80's) - do the WB near Deposit during the afternoon.  There are lots of bugs (mostly caddis) and some rising fish. About seven, if you still want to fish, head for the BR or the EB. They are going to be warm and the bugs will not hatch 'til near dark. The fish already know this.
